Dr Samanta Sylva
MD, MBBS, FRANZCR, FRCR-UK
Dr Sylva joined Geraldton Radiology in 2016 as a Consultant Radiologist having achieved his MBBS in 1999 at The University of Colombo in Sri Lanka and going on to receive a MD (Radiology) at the same facility’s Post Graduate Institute of Medicine in 2008. In 2010 Dr Sylva gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists UK. In 2011 he also became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
During the period 2001 – 2008 Dr Sylva worked at various Medical Facilities throughout Sri Lanka until, in mid-2008 he joined The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Adelaide in South Australia as a Radiology Registrar. In 2009 Dr Sylva took a position at the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he specialised in Women’s Imaging including Breast Radiology and was a member of the Breast MDT. 2011 saw Dr Sylva return to Sri Lanka as a Consultant Radiologist. During this time he practiced at the District General Hospital, Moneragala and the Base Hospital in Puttulam. In 2012 he worked within the Neuro Trauma Unit of The National Hospital of Sri Lanka. In mid-2012 Dr Sylva returned to Western Australia to take on the position of Consultant Radiologist at The Geraldton Regional Hospital.
